LMS System
Technology Integration, in collaboration with OTI & Polar Bear Media, has developed a Learning Management System (LMS) fitting the specific needs of DoD and currently in use at the US Army Sergeant Major Academy (Ft. Bliss, El Paso, TX).
The academy is managing more than 700 hundred students from classes 26 to 30 for the SGM Non-Resident Course using this LMS. Starting in fall 2003, the Sergeant Major Academy will manage its students for the in-coming class 54 SGM Resident Course using an upgrade of the LMS. In the fiscal year 2004, the US Army Sergeant Major Academy at Ft. Bliss will be managing more than 1500 students using this same Learning Management System.
Technology Integration LMS implements:
• Course scheduling
• Student enrollment
• Content delivery and management
• Online testing and evaluation
• Training record keeping.
What makes this LMS unique is that it was developed in collaboration with the US Army Sergeant Major Academy to automate DoD specific processes. Among other many specific features, the system:
• uploads student list with specific military information
• enables the early registration of students
• enables the student to enter information that is needed by many departments early, once, and over the internet before the student comes on base for the in-processing phase
• interfaces with other DoD systems
• enables the height and weight in-processing process that is specific to the armed forces
• enables very flexibly the APFT processes
• enables DoD dismissal process including printing of dismissal packages
• prints DoD graduation package including diploma and form 1059
• tracks and records official information pertaining to the interactions between students and trainers during the course
• generates a large set of reports specific to DoD to track progress and quality of the training
• enables to manage logistics tasks such as housing for the coming classes
• enables to manage DoD academies extra-curricular activities such as community volunteer work or graduation dinner
